Literary Trail

19.03.2017 Mazovia and Lesser Poland are the lands that inspired writers and poets with their charm. Today, tourists interested in outstanding figures of Polish literature can wander in their footsteps, due to the trail marked out in the Mazowiecka Lowland and the Lesser Poland Upland. This trail, known as the Literary Trail, leads through towns associated with outstanding Polish representatives of the world of literature. In many of them there are biographical museums that are worth visiting to get to know the creators of outstanding works. The most important towns through which the Literary Trail leads include: Opinogóra Górna, Warsaw, Oblęgorek, Czarnolas and Nałęczów. The journey in the footsteps of eminent writers and poets is best to start with Opinogóra. There is a museum of romanticism and a museum of positivism. This town is associated with the Krasiński family, whose well-known representative is the romantic poet - Zygmunt Krasiński. It was in this town that the poet spent his childhood. The interesting Literature Museum can be visited in Warsaw. One of the leading Polish poets - Adam Mickiewicz - is the patron of this museum facility. Mickiewicz souvenirs are a large group among all exhibits presented in the museum. You can see not only manuscripts, but also the first editions of his works. There are also exhibits related to Julian Tuwim, Maria Dąbrowska and other people of the pen. Lipce Reymontowskie is an interesting town on the Literary Trail. It was the inhabitants of this village that Stanisław Reymont observed while working on his outstanding work, the novel "Chłopi". In 1983, Lipka gained the second part of its name, in honor of a deserved Nobel Prize winner. Here you can visit the museum dedicated to Reymont, and nearby - an interesting open-air museum, which aims to familiarize tourists with the living conditions in the countryside in the nineteenth century. Nagłowice is another important town on the Literary Trail. Here lived and created Mikołaj Rej - the first poet who created his works in Polish. Oblęgorek is another important town on the route, where you can visit the interesting Henryk Sienkiewicz Museum. Here, in Oblęgorek, the writer spent his free time. After his death, the widow and the writer's son lived permanently in the manor house, which had previously served as a summer residence. Wandering along the Literary Trail it is necessary to stop in a beautiful town on the Radom Plain, which is associated with Jan Kochanowski. This is Czarnolas, in whom he lived and created a poet, known mainly ... from linden. Unfortunately, this linden tree is gone, but an interesting manor house which is now a museum remains. Nałęczów is a health resort that also found its place on the Literary Trail. Writers such as Bolesław Prus and Stefan Żeromski willingly visited this resort. Bolesław Prus was a frequent guest here - he spent 28 seasons in this fashionable resort. He was well known to the inhabitants of Nałęczów, what is more - he was connected with the inhabitants of the spa by close, almost friendly relations. During his visits, the writer stayed at the Małachowski Palace, in which the museum of his name now functions. The museum's collections include many interesting souvenirs related to Prussia, including numerous letters and first editions of his works.
